But what comes to mind when you think of health? Physical, mental, financial, social, or spiritual? There’s no reason to choose!
CBGMC works to educate our elected officials to address the issue of HIV/AIDS within Black communities, especially the disproportionately high impact of the epidemic among Black gay/bisexual men.
In Illinois, Black men represented 71% of reported HIV diagnoses among African-Americans in Illinois in 2009, and four out of five of those men were likely exposed via male-male sex. We encourage you to reach out to your representatives to make sure they understand the impact of HIV/AIDS in your community.
