CBGMC works to educate our elected officials to address the issue of HIV/AIDS within Black communities, especially the disproportionately high impact of the epidemic among Black gay/bisexual men.

In Illinois, Black men represented 71% of reported HIV diagnoses among African-Americans in Illinois in 2009, and four out of five of those men were likely exposed via male-male sex. We encourage you to reach out to your representatives to make sure they understand the impact of HIV/AIDS in your community.
